China Golden Eagle festival names top TV winners
Chinese actress Zhao Liying won the Best Actress award in the 15th China Golden Eagle TV Art Festival on Sunday. The contest is the Chinese equivalent of the Emmy Awards.
Zhao plays Xu Banxia in the TV series Wild Bloom, which aired in 2022. The character is a woman with vision and strength who overcomes many obstacles in the male-dominated steel industry, carving out a place for herself in the 1990s.
It is the second time Zhao has been named best actress in the Golden Eagle awards.
In accepting the award, Zhao said she wishes she could tell herself 18 years ago to stay firm in her aspirations, to be determined and trust herself. If she could do so, she would find success in the future.
Veteran TV host He Jiong won the Best TV Host award. He said he has not fully learned hosting and does not possess many skills. Iver the past 30 years, he has been sincere on stage for his audiences, which has won him much love, he said.
Fan Wei won the Best Actor award, and the Three-Body Problem won Best TV Series.
The award ceremony was hosted in Changsha, Hunan province.
