Premier Li Keqiang urged Namibia on Wednesday to approve an agreement on investment protection "as soon as possible", to expand bilateral cooperation.

The outlook for bilateral cooperation is promising, as long as the two sides are willing to innovate their concepts about development, the premier said during a meeting with visiting Namibian Prime Minister Hage Geingob in Sanya, Hainan province.

As the only African country attending the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2014, Li said Namibia is the representative of Africa, a rapidly rising force.

"China pays great attention to its relations with Africa, and we will continue to support African countries to adopt development paths that fits their own conditions," he said.

Saying he plans a trip to some African countries soon, Li stressed that China is willing to work together with its friends in Africa to push forward Sino-Africa relations.

Geingob said his country welcomes Chinese enterprises that invest in Namibia, and the country looks forward to deeper cooperation with China under the framework of South-South cooperation.

The two governments signed agreements on economy, technology exchanges, infrastructure construction, mining and human resources training after the meeting.
