A 41-year-old US teacher donated his organs in East China's Jiangsu province on Wednesday.

Amery Scott from Washington was an English teacher in Changshu City, Jiangsu. He suffered a stroke on the night of Oct 1 and was pronounced brain dead on Tuesday.

His kidney and corneas have been given to Chinese patients, said Guo Qiang, a doctor with the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, in the city of Suzhou, Jiangsu.

On Oct 1, China's National Day, Scott posted a picture of himself holding a small Chinese national flag on his WeChat Moments and wrote, "My greatest hope today is that the country I come from and the country that is my current home together continue to grow in peace and prosperity, Happy National Day!"

Scott agreed to donate his organs when he applied for a driving license in the US, said Scott's mom, adding her son had made the right decision.

"Scott fell in love with China and we know that he would have wanted to help in any way possible, right up to the end," wrote a Facebook user Marry Williamson who said it was a message from Scott's mom from an interview.

According to Suzhou's Red Cross Society, Scott was the 41st organ donor in the city of Suzhou and the first foreign donor in the history of the province.
