Yinchuan to host global e-sports summit this week
The World Cyber Arena global e-sports summit will open on Friday in Yinchuan, the Ningxia Hui autonomous region. Dozens of key stakeholders from different e-sports industries will attend. They will explore strategic cooperation and share ideas on developing e-sports around the world. The summit, first held in 2014, has been organized by the city of Yinchuan and the Yinchuan International Game Investment Co.
Innovation festival draws 1,400 to Guangzhou
The Guangzhou International Innovation Festival will be held from Monday to Thursday in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. The third Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation will be presented during the festival, which will also feature the Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Conference. More than 1,400 delegates from around the world are expected to attend. The theme of the festival is "Global Wisdom for Local Solutions." The award for urban innovation aims to recognize efforts in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in cities. Presented biennially, it encourages and recognizes outstanding projects in the public sector.
Venture capitalists head to Beijing for annual forum
The China Venture Capital and Private Equity Annual Forum will be held from Monday to Wednesday in Beijing. The three-day conference will feature keynote speeches, thematic sessions and investment seminars. Several leading investors, including Neil Shen of Sequoia Capital and Xiong Xiaoge, founding partner of IDG Capital, will attend. The forum was first held in 2000.
Top economists to speak at Guanghua conference
The 18th annual Peking University Guanghua New Year Forum will be held in Beijing on Saturday. Top economists and scholars will attend the forum and give speeches on opportunities and challenges for China in the changing landscape of globalization. Keynote speakers include Li Yining, honorary dean of the Guanghua School of Management. As one of China's most influential business schools, Guanghua operates more than 30 research centers.
