Bayern to set up full-time soccer school in Shenzhen
FC Bayern Munich (FCB) announced Thursday evening that it will establish its first full-time soccer academy in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
Its aim is to bring FCB’s youth development experience to local coaches, teachers and players, as well as to build a world-class sports park for training.
J?rg Wacker, board member for internationalization and strategy at FC Bayern Munich, said: “In the following years, we want to strengthen the visibility of FC Bayern in China and share our knowledge and values. The FC Bayern Football School Shenzhen is a strong statement to affirm and implement our international strategy in China.”
The school, located in Longgang district, will consist of six 11–man soccer fields, 14 five–man indoor and outdoor fields. Positioned as a multi-purpose sports arena, it will also include fitness training center, seminar room, a nutrition rehabilitation center, fan club, FC Bayern museum and a high-tech soccer training ground.
Shenzhen Shentou Education Limited, a subsidiary of Shenzhen Investment Holdings Limited, and China Sports Futurity Investment Limited will jointly be responsible for its construction, development and operation.
