Accelerating growth: Siming hosts 2024 government affairs briefing

Since the beginning of this year, the total GDP of Siming district, Xiamen, has reached 138.96 billion yuan ($19.4 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.6 percent, while the total fiscal revenue is 23.5 billion yuan, with a fixed asset investment growth rate of 37.9 percent.
Siming district is focused on promoting the development of productive service industries by strengthening artificial intelligence and the gaming industry. It is also promoting the development of commerce, trade, culture, and tourism by organizing various events to boost consumption and cultural tourism activities.
Moreover, efforts are being made to enhance the innovation ecosystem through the introduction of high-level technology platforms and optimization of investment attraction, which are expected to improve the quality and quantity of projects.
In recent years, urban governance in Siming district has improved in quality, while community governance capacity has been enhanced as well. Progress has also been made in areas such as education, livelihood security, and culture.
In the second half of the year, Siming district will continue to promote high-quality economic development. Key focuses include upgrading industries for enhanced efficiency, improving residential environments, and strengthening the public service system.
Siming district continues to build the "Siming Shopping Festival", focusing on consumer hotspots as it conducts a series of consumption promotion activities.
Simultaneously, efforts will be made to promote the construction of the Xiamen Science City Smart Innovation Industrial Park, creating a new type of innovation and entrepreneurship complex.
