The store is the first JD.com has opened in the Northeast China region.
By using facial recognition and big data analysis technologies, the store provides consumers with a new shopping experience, which attracted large numbers of Shenyang residents to the store on opening day.
The store specializes in 3C (computer, communication and consumer electronics) products.
Popular products which are hard to buy online and products that are only sold through online channels will also be available in the new JD store, providing further convenience for Shenyang residents.
The prices of products in JD’s store are the same as online.
The JD app will send consumers advertisements when they login to their JD accounts through facial recognition technology in the store. The advertisements are based on the analysis of consumers’ consumption habits and the time their eyes focus on products, according to Wang Zhigang, manager of JD’s store in Shenyang.
When consumers scan the QR code on a product’s electronic price tags, they will have access to detailed information and evaluation through the JD App. Consumers can pick up products in store or choose to have them delivered after successful payment.
