Approximately 100 martial artists pitted against each other at an open combat competition in Xi'an on May 21.
Fighters represented ten universities and colleges in Shaanxi, such as Shaanxi Normal University and Northwestern Polytechnic University.
The event was held at Xiwu Fight Club and was designed to raise students’ interest in martial arts and help them strengthen their mind and body, according to Duan Wenge, head of the fight club.
