The second season of the TV program "The Impressive Scenery of Shanxi" is to debut on Shanxi Satellite TV at the end of April and will be shown each Friday evening, according to Shanxi Daily.
In the show, 10 cities in the province will compete for the opportunity to host the third Shanxi Provincial Tourism Development Conference later this year.
The first season proved to be a great success in 2016, arousing people's affections for their hometowns and boosting local tourism.
What makes the program different and compelling for viewers is that this year the competition will run on a home and away basis, with the stage of every episode set at a scenic spot in one of the competing cities.
Viewers at home can also take part in the program by sending messages, photos and videos of their hometowns, giving them the chance of winning tickets or discounts to scenic spots, as well as Shanxi specialties.
The TV program is expected to raise Shanxi's profile and to further boost tourism to the province.
