Eighteen parkour practitioners brought Pingyao a modern and energetic atmosphere, when the 2015 Red Bull Parkour Championship was held in the ancient town from Oct 24 to 25.
The towering walls and narrow lanes became the arena during the parkour competition. Climbing, jumping, and flipping, Pingyao Ancient City became a stage for the breathtaking art. Parkour, or pao ku in Chinese (literally, running cool), arrived in China in 2006 and has attracting an increasing number of young people.
