Paper-cutting art spotlighted in Yantai

An exhibition featuring traditional paper-cutting artworks are on display at Yantai Jiaodong Folk Art Museum, which will run?until Oct 14.
Nine outstanding paper-cutting masters from China's Guizhou, Shandong, Shaanxi, Jilin and Jiangsu provinces were invited to showcase their exquisite artworks with different styles.
More than 100 paper-cutting artworks with?varying themes, exquisite patterns and distinctive regional characteristics are exhibited at museum.
Paper-cuttings are used to decorate the windows, beds, rice containers and flour vats, and exhibit the homeowners' longing for good luck. Chinese paper-cutting is also included on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
As a part of the First Yantai Citizens Cultural Festival, the exhibition will honor the 70th anniversary of the founding of?People's Republic of China and also provides an exchange platform for paper-cut artists from all over the country.
