The China Business News program on China's national TV network CCTV had a report on My 30 on how Xichuan county near the city of Nanyang, Henan province, has adapted its traditional modes of planting to organic agriculture to conserve water and soil along the country's major South-North Water Diversion Project.
Xichuan, a water source for the middle part of the project, has established pollution-free agricultural bases for eco-agriculture over the past two years on a 65,800–hectare area to cultivate certified pollution-free, organic, and green food products.
The deputy chief of the county, Xu Hu, explained after the broadcasted, "We'll push ahead with of the change and improve agriculture and develop eco-tourism while conserving the soil and water."
