The Kangde Night Market will add a variety of commercial activities to match the feast of Taiwanese snacks. Many Taiwanese merchants will settle in to make the market become an integration of gourmet, shipping and entertainment, according to a project coordinator at the market.

More of Taiwan’s famous snacks, such as red noodles and Kaohsiung mixed stew, along with some of the most popular iced drinks, will be introduced to the market, said Li Wenbin, the market’s manager.

Prices of many Taiwanese snacks at the market went down after the Pingtan Closure, which refers to a comprehensive customs supervision and management system that helps to cut the cost of imported commodities into Pingtan.

The marketing team will also place a canoe made by Taiwanese aborigines at a plaza, which is planned to be erected beside the night market, and invite a betel nut girl, in a bid to strengthen the touches of Taiwan’s culture.

“The tourists can take a rest in the canoe and take photos,” said Li.

To provide the visitors with more fun, the organizers will open seven game booths with popular options like basketball shooting, pinball and doll claw, he added.
