A man who works in Xiamen created the “world’s longest seesaw” to play with his eight-month-old son in Tengzhou of Shandong Province -- a city 1180 kilometres away from Xiamen.
The “l(fā)ongest seesaw” is actually a pair of two electronically connected units, one in Xiamen and the other in Tengzhou. The two sides of the seesaw are connected via the internet. When the dad depresses his end of the seesaw in Xiamen, the other end in Tengzhou goes up. Father and son also can see each other through the high definition displays equipped on each of the seesaw units.
The dad, Liu Haibin said: “When I was a little boy, my father always came back from work early to seesaw with me. My son is eight months old. I’ve only been home three times since he was born. I want to give him a special gift and a good memory.”
