The Fuzhou Strait Culture and Arts Center, similar in size to Sydney Opera House, is planned to start being built in August, Strait News reported on July 1.
Resembling a white jasmine, it will be located in Sanjiangkou, Fuzhou New District, and will cover an area of 134,700 square meters with a total investment of 2 billion yuan ($320.2 million).
The center is a major cultural project and is expected to become a landmark of Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian province. It was designed by a Finnish designer.
