From March 27 to 29, Egyptian artists wowed audiences of Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region with the dance show Egyptian Women. Dynamic and with an exotic atmosphere, the dance presents characteristics of Egyptian women in different historical periods and their profound influence on Egyptian society, which was well received by the Chinese audience.

The dance show was performed by the Oriental Knight Contemporary Dance Company, which is established by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. It consists of 20 artists. They mainly perform folk dance, drama and traditional dance in historic styles.

2016 is the 60th anniversary of China and Egypt’s establishing bilateral diplomatic relations. The two countries will hold a series of cultural events to mark the China-Egypt cultural year to boost friendship between the two peoples and enhance cooperation between the countries. There will be 102 cultural events held in Beijing, Shanghai and Ningxia.
