Authorities in Luyi county, Central China's Henan province, are investigating a local legislator after a woman claiming to be his mistress alleged the official fathered her daughter, the local government said.

The woman, Li Shanshan, posted intimate photos of who she claims is herself with Luo Zhiyuan, a deputy of the Henan Provincial People's Congress, on Tencent Weibo, a Chinese micro blog, on Friday.

Li allegedly posted the photos to argue for child-support payments from the official, the Beijing News reported on Monday.

In response, the local people's congress, commission for discipline inspection, and public security department had set up a joint investigation and promised to publicize the results soon, the local government said in a statement on Sunday.

They have informed Luo, who is abroad on a business tour, to come back for the investigation, the statement said.

Li claimed she was the mistress of Luo, the chairman of Zhi Yuan Food Group located in Luyi county, Henan province, who was selected to be a deputy of the Henan Provincial People's Congress in 2007 and 2012.

Li posted photos showing whom she alleged were herself and Luo lying in bed with Luo holding a baby girl. In addition, message logs under the post showed a bankcard statement with a 27 million yuan ($4.4 million) deposit.

She also allegedly published a screenshot of a mobile text message that she claimed was a warning from Luo, which said, “I've spent a lot of connections to attain the Henan People's Congress deputy post; if it's ruined, you know the results.”

Luo denied that he had sent the message to her, and said she was trying to blackmail him, the report said.

He also said he never sent Li the 27 million yuan deposit. Li then deleted the photos of the bankcard statement, claiming the money was her own, according to the report.

The government statement also said that a local court accepted the case on Dec 23 filed by Li against Luo over alimony of their alleged child.
