Shenyang to close underground water systems
All underground water systems in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, will be closed over the next two years under an environmental protection drive.
The move was announced by Liaoning Provincial Department of Water Resources on Monday.
Shenyang has closed some water systems since 2011, and 12 more will shut this year. By 2015, another 19 will have been closed, reducing water consumption by 196 million cubic meters.
