Capital hosts Belgian contemporary art exhibition
From Rene Magritte, the mastermind of surrealism, to Luc Tuymans whose paintings show the power of images, Belgium has kept nourishing generations of gifted artists since the 20th century.
Texture of Time, an ongoing exhibition at the Guardian Art Center in Beijing, introduces the dynamism of Belgian contemporary art scene with a display of paintings and installations of 16 artists.
It offers a window of the social and cultural landscapes, through the changes of time of this country in central Europe, with the works of three prominent figures — Daniel Sluse, Jacques Charlier and Alain Bornain.
The diverse styles usher the audience into a creative world composed of the collective experiences against a globalized world, and also individualized lifestyles to reflect differences in tradition and culture.
The exhibition is through to March 12.
