Shanghai's two airports saw both their single-day flights and passenger flow hit new highs on Sunday, as 2,386 flights took-off or landed at the city, transporting roughly 397,000 passenger trips, according to the Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.
The Shanghai Pudong International Airport handled 1,597 flights and 254,000 passenger trips, while the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport received 789 flights, along with 143,000 passenger trips on the same date.
The historic flights and passenger flow is due to the traveling boom during this summer vacation, said Shanghai Airport.
