Jilin University graduates receive unique commemorative rings
As graduation season arrives, graduates of Jilin University in Changchun, Jilin province, look forward to their distinct souvenirs — rings engraved with the university's name and the student's ID number.
The ring features the classic swan element from the school emblem, symbolizing kindness, bravery and ambition.
The rings, a product of collaboration between Jilin University's School of Materials Science and Engineering and an alumni company in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, are made of a unique material developed by professors Zheng Weitao and Zhang Kan.
Their innovative interlayer plating gives them high hardness, makes them resistant to corrosion and oxidation, and repels oil.
These rings are intended to help graduates retain the memories of their university years and the bonds they formed with their teachers and classmates.
