China, Japan must nurture a stable and healthy relationship
China and Japan stand as important economic and trade partners for each other and both sides should maintain stable and smooth industrial and supply chains, and promote the healthy and stable development of economic and trade relations, China's Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
China has always advocated that export control measures should adhere to the principles of fairness, reasonableness and non-discriminatory practices, said the ministry.
No country or region should abuse export control measures and should not harm the legitimate rights and interests of other countries and regions, He Yadong, a spokesman for the ministry, said during a press conference.
China and Japan should implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, make good use of the export control dialogue mechanism, maintain policy communication, and enhance understanding and mutual trust, He said.
The two countries held the first meeting regarding China-Japan export control dialogue mechanism in Tokyo on Jan 17. Both sides agreed to continue close communication, deepen understanding of each other's export control systems, improve the transparency of export control measures and ensure that regular trade is not hindered.
