ABU DHABI -- Chinese teenager Li Bingjie clinched her second gold at the 15th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) by winning the women's 400m freestyle final on Sunday.

Li, 19, topped in the 400m race in three minutes and 55.83 seconds, 2.04 seconds faster than silver medalist Summer McIntosh from Canada.

On Saturday, the long-distance specialist made a splash by winning the 800m freestyle with a new tournament record of 8:02.90. The previous Championships record of 8:03.41 was set by Spaniard Mireia Belmonte in 2014.

"I felt really tired after yesterday's 800m final and I didn't get better this morning," said Li. "But today's result is just as what I expected."

Siobhan Bernadette Haughey from Hong Kong, China added a bronze to her two golds after finishing third in 3:58.12.

The 24-year-old swimmer took the victory in the 200m freestyle by smashing the world record on Thursday and then brought her good form to the 100m freestyle race to clinch the title with a new Championships record.

The women's 50m butterfly final saw the clash between two decorated veterans -- Ranomi Kromowidjojo from the Netherlands and Swede Sarah Sjostrom.

The 31-year-old Kromowidjojo finally triumphed by improving her own Championships record to 24.44 seconds while the 28-year-old Sjostrom followed in 24.51 seconds.

"The world record was also in my vision. I was close but never mind - a gold and a lifetime best is pretty much enough, for sure," said Kromowidjojo who was 0.08 second behind Therese Alshammar's world record from 2009.

Kliment Kolesnikov put himself forward on Sunday as the athlete from the Russian Swimming Federation bagged home two golds in one day.

The 21-year-old won the men's 100m individual medley in 51.09 seconds, and then took the victory in the 50m backstroke with a result of 22.66 seconds.

He already had a gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay and a silver in the 100m backstroke.
