Iconic watches featured in Swiss watch maker Blancpain's Beijing exhibition
The Swiss watch manufacturer Blancpain hosted an exhibition to display its iconic watches for women at its new flagship boutique at Beijing's World Trade Center recently.
Entitled Timeless Elegance, the exhibition featured most of Blancpain's latest collections of ladies' watches. Visitors also can watch a short movie about a vintage cocktail watch owned by Marilyn Monroe. In addition to the exquisite art-deco Blancpain high jewelry watch, the video also includes photographs of the American actress and some of her personal memorabilia. The video is a result of Blancpain's exhibition under the same name in New York last November.
With 73 diamonds, the vintage watch was purchased by Blancpain in 2016 during an auction of the estate of Lee Strasberg, Monroe's famous acting coach and mentor. It was a gift to Marilyn Monroe from her third husband, author Arthur Miller.
