Finding genuine Hungarian food and art at Beijing festival
Hungarian food is a great way to warm the tastebuds of foodies in Beijing as winter begins.
From the famed goulash (beef stew) to "lángos", the fry bread and chimney cake, the Hungarian Gourmet Festival, in its fifth year at the Minzu Hotel, makes genuine Hungarian cuisine accessible to capital residents. High-profile chefs from Hungary's Hunguest Hotels have been invited to ensure authenticity of the served dishes.
Titled "Hungary Gourmet and Fashion", the two-week-long festival is also added an artistic touch via showcases of modern art and fashion. From Nov 21 to 29, Hungarian artists Gajdics Kristztian and Hegedusnesevella Zsuzsanna will demonstrate traditional leather products and handicrafts. Local costume and accessory showcases will follow from Nov 30 to Dec 1.
The event ends on Dec 1.
