The Glories of the Minya Konka
In western Sichuan province, there is a tapestry of majestic mountains. Most of these run north to south, where the Dadu, Yalong, Jinsha and other rivers race through. The Indian subcontinent and the Eurasian continent collide here, forming a magnificent mountainous region.
It is one of the most diverse natural landscapes on the planet — and that diversity extends to culture and biology. The highest peak of the Hengduan Mountains, the Minya Konka, is on the top of the serial peaks at the altitude of 7,556 meters.
The nature documentary The Glories of the Minya Konka respectfully tells stories of biodiversity through images taken at the Gonggashan National NatureReserve:
?the story of the symbiosis between the snow leopard and the leopard in the Gongga mountain area
?the spectacular story of the seasonal flowering of the Magnolia dawsoniana and the monkey group
?the courtship of the Lady Amherst's Pheasant
?the relationship between glaciers and water sources
?the stories of alpine forests and villages
?the scenery of pine mushrooms
All these showcase the exquisite natural environment at Gongga Mountain, and the significance of these ecosystems to human existence.
