Air rail is the future in Henan
Whether under or over ground, rail networks are mainstays of major cities across the world. Airborne trains suspended from a rail in the sky however are not – but possibly not for long.
Residents of Kaifeng, Central China's Henan province, will take these trains one day in the future.
Beijing China Air Rail Group's (BCAR) new air rail technology has passed initial reviews conducted by senior experts from major rail companies such as China Railway and CRRC, bringing air rail closer to delivery.
Air rail refers to a single-rail transportation system similar to current urban railway systems with one major difference: its cars hang under, rather than drive over, the rails.
Compared with other transportation systems, air rail is considered safer, more energy-efficient, as well as more cost productive.
